Spotify Premium Users Can Now Turn Any Idea Into a Personalized Playlist With AI Playlist in Beta

๐Ÿ“ฑ Spotify launched AI Playlist โ€” the opportunity to generate playlists based on text prompts. AI algorithms create a lineup of 30 songs in seconds. If you don’t like the result, you can ask for a redo, like opting for calmer or more upbeat music.

Prompts can be short, mentioning artists and genres, or more detailed, referencing movies, book characters, activities, places, moods, and even emojis. Basic prompt options are available for beginners or those undecided about their music preferences.

๐ŸŽถ Spotify uses AI algorithms to understand user intent. It then pairs them with personalization technology โ€” the information about the listenersโ€™ past searches and music preferences. Earlier, the service had built generative AI into its radio DJ function. AI DJ makes a curated lineup of tracks based on what the users listen to the most.

The AI Playlist option is now available to Spotify Premium subscribers in the UK and Australia. It will be available in other countries in the coming months.

Spotify is also working on an in-app music editing feature. It will soon be possible to speed up or trim the tracks.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Amazon Music, too, launched an AI playlist feature called Maestro . It helps you create any playlist you can think ofโ€”plus all the ones you can’t. You can generate a playlist using both text and voice commands.
